After 6 months of hard work on working on my website, I’m finally getting a PageRank for my website! And it’s a PageRank of 4 which I think is quite good for a start. My current Alexa Rank is 414,513 and I’m working hard to hit the 100,00 mark by end of year. Thanks for everyone who has been linking to my blog and being supportive for my illustrator tutorials. If you have been enjoying my blog, do help spread the blog by giving a link or spreading to your friends. Thanks!

We have seen how Nick La create his vector stamp using 3 simple steps. But the edges doesn’t really look like what I see on a real stamp. We have seen how others draw circles and blend to specified steps to create the dotted lines and subtract it from a rectangle. But I find it too much of a hassle and work. So why am I rewriting on this since there’s so many tutorials written on it? Cos I’m showing you my unorthodox way of creating a stamp easily. So let’s get the ball rolling!

Do you share the same woes when the shapes just go crazy after you blend you shapes? Fret not, Uncle Luc will show us some of his experiences on using the Blend Tool in illustrator. Some of his workarounds include:
- Reversing the start and end points of one of the two images
- Adding new anchor points
- Adding a third object in the blend
- Blending two identical shapes

You can get interesting dotted lines with your Stroke Palette. Open up your Stroke Palette from Window>Stroke. Draw a line and select it. Enter the dash and gap value as shown. Experiment with different dash and gap values for different effects. To create a square dotted line, make sure the dash and weight is the same value.

I did a quick search to find an illustrator tutorial on creating a disco ball but I couldn’t find one. So I’ve decided to write this tutorial to help those interested in creating this awesome disco ball effect. It is actually quite simple, the technique is to create the texture first and map it onto the 3D sphere. However, we will require Illustrator CS and above to create this effect. This is the VHS tape that was shipped with Illustrator 1.0. It’s amazing to see that Illustrator 1.0 is already so powerful.

Drawing a diamond is pretty simple in illustrator. First, let’s do some research on the anatomy of a diamond. We don’t want to do some fancy cut and get rejected by our clients. Here’s a proportional diamond line art taken from the website. We will use this as a guide to help us create a perfect diamond.

Here is a short article on color from iStockphoto. Recommended reading for beginners learning about color.
Excerpt: When creating a very dense composition with lots of elements stuffed into a single image, it’s easy to let color overwhelm the viewer. The trick is not to use as many bright colors as possible, but to use color to draw the viewer’s eye to whatever you want to in your composition.

Why Microstock?
Do you have a passion for illustrations or photography? Now with Microstock you can make an extra income just by selling your photos or illustrations online. I started selling my first vector art at iStockphoto and I became excited when I made my first sale of 20 cents. But things started to change rapidly as I improve on my illustration skills and build up my portfolio. Within a year, I’m a able to earn a 4 digit income every month just by selling my vector art. It’s true that alot of photographers and illustrators are earning an average of $1000 just by selling their photos at a part time basis. And if you are a professional in this line, I don’t see why you are not earning double or triple of this amount. I know a lot of top contributors are earning a over $10,000 income easily every month.
Selling at Microstock can work for you if you have the necessary skills for photography or illustrations. It may take months to see the results, but imagine a photo that can continue selling for years. That’s the power of passive income!
